Tonkinese CatThe origin of Tonkinese cat is not clear. Breeders produced this breed by crossing Siamese cat with Burmese cat. Tonkinese cats are usually referred as Tonks.

Body Description:

Tonkinese cat features a muscular body. Paws are oval-shaped. Head is wedge-shaped. Ears are large and eyes are wide open.

Body coat of this cat displays a wide array of patterns and colours such as pointed, sepia and mink. Common coat colours are champagne, lilac, and blue. The coat is short, soft and has a curling on chest.

Weight and Height Male Tonkinese cats weigh around 9 to 12 lbs, whereas female Tonkinese cats weigh around 6 to 8 lbs. The approximate height is 12 inches.
Nature and Temperament Tonkinese cats are curious, intelligent, and playful, but are not hyperactive. They may act mischievous on getting bored and will often to try to perch on high objects. They may even jump on shoulders due their ability to get on top.
Activity

Tonkinese cats are very active and require enough space to play and run.

Life Span Life expectancy of this cat is 15 years and above.
