SingapuraThe Singapura sometimes referred to as the ‘drain cat’, descended from a type of native Singapore cat. Singapuras are small cats having a distinctive appearance and colouring. Hal Meadow imported the original Singapura to the United States in 1970.

Body Description:

Singapura is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s smallest domestic cat breed. They are smaller than average shorthaired cat having very large eyes and ears. The head is round with a broad muzzle and blunt nose. They have different eye colours such as hazel, green and yellow. The body is small to medium with short and thick neck. Tail is short and slender.

The coat of Singapura cat is very short and silky. Sepia and agouti coat colour pattern is the most popular in this cat breed.

Weight and Height

Male Singapura cats weigh around 6-7 pound, whereas females weigh around 4-5 pounds. They measure up to 6-8 inches.

Nature and Temperament

Singapuras are lively, intelligent and loving pets. They are feisty little mouse hunters that require a lot of attention and interactive play. They easily learn new tricks. Singapuras love to sleep in the lap of their owners and get along well with other animals as well as cat-friendly dogs. They prefer staying indoors most of the time.

Activity

Singapuras are extremely mischievous and are always willing to play. They get the required exercise through regular play sessions. Usually, they love playing with ball.

Life Span On an average, the Singapura cat lives for 9-15 years.
