SerengetiSerengeti cats are hybrid cat breed. They are cross breed of Bengal cats and Oriental Shorthair cats. Karen Sausman of California bred Serengetis in 1994. The main intent to bred Serengetis was to have a cat breed resembling the African Serval cat.

Body Description:

An ideal Serengeti has long legs, exceptionally big flat ears and long neck with upright posture. Eyes are large, round of gold, amber or green colour. Tail is long and rounds at the end.

Serengeti cats have smooth and shorthaired coats. Popular colours are brown spotted, black/smoke spotted and silver spotted. Snow spotted Serengeti cats are very rare and in demand.

Weight and Height

Male Serengeti cats weigh around 10-15 pounds, whereas females weigh around 8-12 pounds. They measure up to 9-11 inches.

Nature and Temperament

Serengeti cats are friendly, open and self-assured. They get along well with other pets and even with cat-friendly dogs. In addition, they are very active and vocal about their feelings. Serengetis are extremely agile, sporty and full of energy. They are easily trainable and learn tricks with no time. They love to climb and enjoy chasing.

Activity

Serengeti cats are extremely responsive. They require a lot of exercise, which they get in their play sessions. You keep a Serengeti indoors most of the time by providing it with interactive toys.
