Selkirk Rex is either medium or large with a muscular appearance. Head is broad and rounded. The nose slants downwards. Ears are medium-sized with a broad base. Eyes are round and expressive. The tail is slightly curled and feathery.

Body coat of this cat has two varieties. Those are long hair and short hair. The coat is thick and plush.

Male cat weighs 11 to 16 lbs, whereas female cat weighs 6 to 12 lbs. height of the cat is nearly 11 inches

Selkirk Rex Cats are playful and get along well with children. They demand human attention are patient and adapt themselves according to environment and enjoy being cuddled. They like to rest on laps of humans. The cat does not cause destruction to objects in the house.
