SchnauzerSchnauzer originated in Germany. This dog comes in 3 sizes namely giant, standard and miniature. Dog breeders bred it for using as ratters and farm dogs. This old German breed of Terriers appears less fiery. Standard size of this dog breed sells much across the world, as it is well in guarding.

Body Description:

Schnauzer is stocky. It has the shape of a square. Its eyebrows are arched. Body of this dog displays whiskers and bristled moustache. Its tail is erect and docked about an inch. It has short raised ears. The ears may appear cropped or folded.

Body coat of Schnauzer is thick and wiry. Its undercoat is soft, whereas outer coat is harsh. Colour of the coat is pure black and salt-and-pepper. The area of coat around its beard and eyebrows need shaping.

Weight and Height Schnauzer is 17 to 19 inches tall. It weighs around 15 to 20 kg
Nature and Temperament Schnauzer easily mixes with children, if trained since puppy hood. It is a problem solver. This dog is standoffish with strangers. It guards a home, as well as a territory. It makes an ideal family pet. It might be hostile with household pets, particularly with dogs of similar breed, if not socialised with them. This dog is a great companion for confident owners.
Activity

This dog breed needs enough exercise, so it remains fit and playful. Adult Schnauzers need a mile’s walk twice or thrice a day. This dog is active in dog sports and fly ball.

Life Span Life expectancy of this dog is 12 to 14 years.
