Rumanian SheepdogRumanian Sheepdogs have originated from Romania. They make excellent flock guard dogs and have been used for centuries by Romanian shepherds. They have unique and same unchanged features from centuries.

Body Description:

Rumanian sheepdogs are big and have a vigorous appearance. The body is rectangular, has broad croup, slightly inclined, with high and vast chest and long inclined shoulder. Male Rumanian dogs are bigger and stronger than its female counterparts. They have strong wolfish like head. The muzzle is strong and slightly in shape of truncated cone. The tail is bushy, straight or slightly sword shaped, when the dog is active it is held high and at rest it drops down

The Rumanian Sheepdog has double coat. The outer-coat is rough, hairy and straight. The undercoat is dense and soft. Except for the head hair is abundant on all parts of the body. Popularly they are found in sandy colour with various shades, which more often are lighter on the sides and darker over the body.

Weight and Height Male Rumanian Sheepdogs measure up to 25-29 inches and female Rumanian Sheepdogs measure up to 23-26 inches. Weight is proportional to the waist, giving an impression of a strong, but not a heavy dog.
Nature and Temperament Rumanian sheepdogs are extremely nimble and agile. They are never clumsy and make perfect watchdogs. They are famous for their instinctive, unconditioned devotion to the flocks or family and its master. Rumanian sheepdogs are dignified, calm and well-balanced dog.
Activity

Rumanian Sheepdogs require a lot of exercise to stay fit. They love to go long daily walks and run around freely in yards.

Life Span On an average a Rumanian sheepdog lives for about 12-14 years.
