RagdollAnn Baker, a cat breeder of Riverside, California, bred Ragdoll cats in 1960. Ragdoll is a big cat breed, which is popular for its relaxed and calm temperament. The name Ragdoll was derived from the nature of these cats of going completely limp and relaxed, when picked up. There is also an association named after this cat breed called the International Ragdoll Cat Association (IRCA) founded in 1971.

Body Description:

Ragdolls are large and well-balanced cats. The head is large, broad having modified wedge-shape. Ears are of medium size, moderately flared, and wide at the base with rounded tips tilting in the forward direction. Eyes are sparkling and vividly blue coloured. The chest and neck are strong large and heavy. Tail is long and curly.

Ragdolls have long coat, which is easy to groom. The coat usually comes in six different colours such as cream, red, seal, chocolate, lilac and blue.

Weight and Height Male Ragdolls weigh around 12-20 pounds, whereas females weigh around 8-15 pounds. They measure up to 11-14 inches.
Nature and Temperament Ragdolls are sweet and obedient. They are very calmed, relaxed and playful at the same time. In addition, they are very friendly towards human beings and other animals. Ragdolls are excellent with children and love to play with them. They need constant attention and affection from their owners.
Activity

Ragdolls receive the required exercise to stay fir from their playing sessions. This makes them excellent indoor cats. They love to play ball with kids.
