This breed is unknown in many parts of the world. Many breeders call Patterdale Terrier as Black Fell Terrier. This breed is not for a family, as they possess high hunting skills.

Body Description:

This breed has powerful and strong head in balance with the entire body. The eyes are sharp and located wide enough from each other. This breed has folded and triangular shaped ears above their skull. The Patterdale terrier has straight, strong and well-boned forelegs. This breed has tail pointing upwards however, not carried on the back.

The Patterdale Terrier has a broken and short coat. The coat may be either wiry or coarse. This breed requires minimal grooming with a brush of soft bristle.

Weight and Height This breed may be of 12 inches in height. The average weight of this breed is 11-13 pounds.
Nature and Temperament The Patterdale Terrier may become loyal and loving provided proper training. A fenced yard is necessary for this breed. This breed is very independent. They have a strong instinct for hunting that may lead them off.
Activity

This breed is difficult to train. The Patterdale Terrier requires firm training from a professional handler for accurate training. They need frequent exercise however, in a fenced area. This breed loves to dig and may go after any animal or thing that moves. While exercising, it is important to keep an eye on them, or they may dig below the fence of the yard. Firm and high fencing is recommended for activities of Patterdale Terrier.

Life Span This breed may survive for a maximum period of 13 years.
