Breeders of West Country in England developed the Old English Sheepdog in 1873, as an agile and perfect cattle driver. In the nineteenth century, this breed was very popular for agricultural use. In addition, farmers sheared these dogs along with their sheep to make clothing and warm blankets. This breed was also able to herd reindeers as they always do well in cold climates.
