Norwegian Forest CatNorwegian Forest cat originally exists in Scandinavia. Breeders obtained this version of cat breed by crossing it with shorthair cats and longhair cats. This cat got its recognition in 1930. Later, in 1938, this cat introduced itself to cat shows.

Body Description:

This cat matures only when it reaches 4 years. Its head is triangular and has strong chin. It has large eyes. Ears of the cat are usually straight with tufts. Its body is muscular and strong. Its tail is bushy and long.

Body coat of this cat is smooth, glossy and water-repellent. The colour of its coat is lilac chocolate and Siamese having white markings all over its face, belly, chest and paws.

Weight and Height

Male Norwegian Forest cat weighs 6-10 kg, whereas female cat is almost half the size. Average height of this cat is 11 inches.

Nature and Temperament Norwegian Forest cat likes to be in the company of human beings. It hates being left alone. This cat is used for an outdoor life. However, plenty of space indoors, is even good for the pet to roam. This cat is playful and makes an ideal family pet.
Activity

This cat is a climber. It climbs on bookshelves, appliances and elevated places while remaining indoors. When outdoors, it climbs on trees.

Life Span Life expectancy of the cat is 9 to 15 years.
