This cat breed is usually large and active. The most common patter in this cat breed is dark brown tabby. In fact, this breed is widely recognized in all colours including tortoiseshell with the exception of lavender, chocolate and point-restricted pattern. It has attractive eyes in different colours such as green and gold. Some of these breeds have facial marking such as a unique ‘M’ shape on their foreheads.
Even though this is a massive and longhaired cat breed, it needs only moderate level of grooming. However, cat owners can groom its hair every with good shampoo to maintain its soft natured coat. |
Maine Coon is a natural ancient breed is considered as the only indigenous longhaired breed in the entire North America. It name only suggests that it is hailed from Maine and is mostly big and has shaggy look. Originally, colonists from European countries brought their own felines with them to North America, which are mated with domestic cat breeds reproducing Maine Coon in larger population.
