Lhasa Apso mainly dwells in Tibet. People believe that, only noble and holy men breed Lhasa Apso. This breed was considered as sacred as it was thought to be lucky. Therefore, this breed was the only watchdog in holy monasteries for more than 2000 years. This breed is very intelligent, with acute hearing and keen instincts.

Body Description:	The entire body of Lhasa Apso has heavy double coating. Their fur helps them to remain warm in winters as well as cool in summers. The coat of Lhasa Apso may touch the flooring. In addition, the coat may cover their eyes however; their eyes remain protected due to long eyelashes. The breed is average shedder.
Weight and Height	The breed weighs up to 15 pounds in normal condition. Lhasa Apso is a small breed of dog and may grow up to 11 inches.
Nature and Temperament	The temperament of this breed is quite different from other breeds. They have a tendency to show dual temperament. Lhasa Apso is very expressive. They show their feeling of devotion and love however, they like to have everything in their own way. Families with rough or mischievous children have to avoid breeding Lhasa Apso. They are good watchdogs reason being, their sharp hearing sense. Generally, they like to be the only pet in a family. The breed is short-tempered and may bite if surprised or angered.
Activities	Lhasa Apso has a tendency to show obstinate and arrogant attitude. They need early training of obedience and socialisation. This breed loves playing indoor games, which fulfils their exercising needs. Outdoor life is unsuitable for Lhasa Apso. They are good condominium and apartment dwellers.
Average Lifespan	The average lifespan of Lhasa Apso is 15 years. However, this breed can survive up to 18 years of age, if taken care off.
