Size of Labrador Retriever is medium. It has a well-balanced, athletic and strong body. The dog is outgoing and friendly. It comes in two types namely the American Labrador and English Labrador. American Labrador is lanky and tall, whereas English Labrador is heavy and thick. The dog is a sporting breed and as such, skilled in retrieving and hunting.

In the 1700s, Labrador Retriever originated in Newfoundland. Later, in the 1800s, it introduced itself to England. It is one of the oldest recognized breed of dogs. The dog makes a good family pet, because of its positive attributes and versatility.
