KoratThe Korat cats are prehistoric and originate from Siam. They are also known as Si-Sawat cat. When king Rama V was gifted with a cat he named it Korat. People of Thailand consider these cats as a good-luck charm. They have a tradition of gifting Korat cats to brides on their wedding day as a symbol of joyous and long-lasting married life.

Body Description:

Korats are medium sized cats. The head is heart-shaped and nose has a lion-like downward curve. They have a strong and well-developed chin and jaws. The ears are large with rounded tip and large base. Tail is medium in length and thick at base and tapers to a rounded tip.

The Korat has a very smooth and shiny coat. The coat should be silver-blue or else the cat will not be considered as Korat.

Weight and Height

Korats weigh around 8-10 pounds and measure up to 9-11 inches

Nature and Temperament Korats are one of the most intelligent breed of cats. They have a strong will power and expressive about their feelings. They normally have a sweet, loving and affectionate temperament. Korats are extremely playful and excellent with children.
Activity

Korats are very active, playful and social cats. They love to play to ball indoors.

Life Span The Korat lives for 15 years or more.
