It is a friendly breed, be it known or unknown faces though reserved at times. They get bored very easily and love new challenges. They are healthy, but sometimes are prone to eye problems. They have the charm to energise and invigorate any sad moment. They are muscular and have outstanding acrobatic skills. They are bliss for people suffering from allergies.

It has a soft dense and long coat that is either wavy or curly. The baby terrier is born blue-black, but as it grows and matures the coat changes its colour to silver, red, brown or grey. It requires a little effort to keep its hair beautiful, but it is odourless irrespective of it being dry or wet.

Kerry Blue Terrier can flourish with just one long walk in seven days however, it feels very happy to walk with its companion. Special care is needed, as it has long coat and so long walks cause dirt in them.
