Kai DogKai Dog had its origin in Japan In the ancient times, it engaged in hunting of wild boar and beer and due to its raw behaviour, Kai Dog is not appropriate as a family pet.

Body Description:

The Kai Dog is extremely powerful and muscular and with its enduring speed and energy, it can climb up the forests and mountains rapidly. Their most peculiar feature is the brindles coat and also known as the Tora dog. They have a very quick move, which makes them proficient in climbing trees.

Kai has two coats, the outer layer is long, straight and harsh, whereas the under layer being thick, dense and soft. The density of the fur is more on the body and tail and considerably less on the ear, head and legs. Baby Kai Dogs are born plain black and the patches appear as they grow and mature.

Weight and Height

Kai Dogs weigh around 25 to 55 pounds and they grow to a different height in males as compared to females. Females grow 17 to 20 inches tall, whereas males grow up to 18 to 22 inches tall.

Nature and Temperament As Kai dogs are not friendly dog to all, it is not advisable for new or inexperienced dog owners to own them, but they develop a very good bond with one family member and is very friendly when raised with fellow pets in the house. They are extremely tender and love some. Although, reserved with strangers Kai is very loyal to its owner and can be trusted with no doubts.
Activity

As they are not very homely, they are not appropriate for apartment living and require space to move around and hunt. They are best suited in rural areas, as they enjoy their freedom.

Life Span The Life span of a Kai Dog is 12 to 15 years.
