HimalayanIn 1950, American cat breeder Marguerita Goforth deliberately created the Himalayan cat. They are a cross breed of Persian and Siamese cats. Himalayan cat is now considered as a separate breed by the American Association of Cat Enthusiast (AACE). The Himalayan cat is listed as the second most popular breed of cat.

Body Description:

Himalayan cat is medium to large sized. They have short and thick legs and a heavily boned body. They have a massive and round head, which sits on a short and thick neck. The eyes are large, round and are eye-catching blue coloured. The ears are small and are round at the tip. The tail is thick and proportioned to the body. Himalayan cat have an overall appearance of a round shape.

The Himalayan cat has extremely long and fluffy. Popular colours are brown, lilac, chocolate and cream.

Weight and Height Male Himalayan cats weigh around 9-14 pounds and females weigh around 7-11 pounds and measure up to 9-11 inches.
Nature and Temperament The Himalayan is the second most popular breed of cats, second only to Persian cat. They are very demure and affectionate. They are very responsive to human moods and prefer to cuddle around their owners. They are known for their gentle and loyal nature with both humans and animals.
Activity

Himalayan cats are very active indoors and love to play with a ball.

Life Span On an average Himalayan cats live up to 15 years.
