Body Description:

Great Pyrenees is stubborn. It shows loyalty toward its owner. The dog is even cautious of unknown animals or people around it. It possesses good manners and it is better to own this dog for companionship.

Double coat of Great Pyrenees is white, which lends intense beauty to this breed of dog. The outer coat is long and coarse that is slightly wavy or straight. As for its undercoat, it is soft and thick like cotton. It protects the dog from harsh weather.

Weight and Height

The male dogs weigh 100 kg and may grow up to 27 to 32 inches tall, whereas bitches weigh 85 lbs, and can grow up to 25 to 29 tall.

Nature and Temperament Great Pyrenees has the tendency to please the onlooker. It guards the farm animals as well. The dog is used commonly for protecting cattle and sheep. It is wilful and as such, it may be difficult to train this dog. It stays comfortably in the company of other animals, particularly among cats.
Activity

It may be a tough task to handle and train Great Pyrenees. However, the dog is always willing to work. It pleases the trainer. A proper training coupled with a dominant trainer and tested methods is likely to make this dog behave loyal and obedient.

Life Span The standard lifespan of Great Pyrenees is 10 to 12 years.
