French BulldogFrench Bulldog has its roots in England. It is a miniature version of the English Bulldog. After breeders imported few of these short Bulldogs, they were breeded with the French Terriers. The imports were highly admired by the streetwalkers belonging to France. This way the dog derived its name the French Bulldog. Finally, after breeders brought back the breed to hometown (England) for shows, people over there made a huge uproar regarding its originality, as they believed the dog belonged to the culture of England.

Body Description:

French Bulldog has rounded, erect, large, bat type ears. It has a pug nose and a flat muzzle. The head is square-shaped. The dog displays a rounded forehead. Its shoulders are wider as compared to the area around its tail. Its coat is soft and short and it comes in white, brindle, and fawn. It may even the combination of white with fawn. Skin of the dog is soft that hangs loose. The dog has rounded eyes and undershot bite. Its tail is straight. This dog requires regular grooming.

The coat is dense, waterproof and furry. The fur may be straight or wavy. The coat is rich and lustrous having different shades of gold. It needs regular combing or brushing. Golden Retrievers need frequent baths with dry shampoo.

Weight and Height

French Bulldog may weigh either around 9-10 kg or 10-13 kg. Typical height of the dog is 12 inches.

Nature and Temperament

French Bulldog is a good household companion. The dog is affectionate and playful. It is hilarious, sweet and possesses a comical personality. The dog amuses people by clowning around. It is vigilant and curious. The dog gets along well with other animals and strangers. The dog enjoys staying in the company of people and hates loneliness. Owners may train the dog to act as per directions. It does not respond to harsh jerking or hitting. The dog is extremely enthusiastic. The dog often may slobber and drool. It hunts mice ruthlessly.

Activities

This dog breed is sensitive to extreme temperature. Exposure of this dog to excessive heat may result in heat stroke. It responds well to cool climate. It adjusts itself well in apartments. The dog may be active indoors. It does not need a yard for accommodation
