Fox TerrierFox Terrier is a small lively black-and-white terrier, formerly used to dig out foxes. To obtain this dog breed, breeders first crossed English Hound and Dachshund. They later crossed the Beagle and Fox Hound. This dog harassed the foxes out of their holes. It is even known as, ratter. In the year 1876, the presence of this dog was marked. Its abilities include agility, hunting, watch dogging and tracking.

Body Description:

Fox Terrier displays a well-built body. Its eyes are small, dark, lively and deep set. Its skull is flat, narrow and tapering. Ears have flaps like the shape of a ‘V’ that tilt forward. This dog has a docked tail, which is about a quarter than its normal size. This dog has strong jaws. Its teeth are well-developed. Its neck is muscular and thick.

Body coat of Fox Terrier is dense, short and close-lying. It covers the inner thighs and the belly. Colour of the coat is white. The coat has brown or black markings.

Weight and Height Male dogs are 14 to 16 inches tall, whereas female dogs are 13 to 15 inches tall. Male dogs weigh 7 to 9 kg, whereas female dogs weigh 6 to 8 kg.
Nature and Temperament This dog is bold, brave and playful. It learns tricks quickly. Due to its hunting instinct, this dog hunts and kills the non-canine animals. It explores places nearby, when let off the leash. It mixes well with fellow dogs if owners train it properly. It often behaves scrappy
Activity

Fox Terrier requires regular brisk walks or jogging. It loves running in a secure area. Owners may use this dog for hunting. It chases small dogs and cats around. A fenced yard is suitable for this dog breed.

Life Span Fox Terrier may live up to 15 years or more.
