The Exotic Shorthair originated in the United States in 1960. This cat is a cross breed of American Shorthair and Persian Longhair. In addition, they may be the crossbreed of the Burmese and the Russian Blue. In Australia, this cat has the genes of the Persians and British Shorthairs instead of American Shorthairs.

Body Description:	The body of the Exotic Shorthair and the body of the Persian are similar. Its face is flat with plush and short appearance. They have round and well-opened eyes. Its ears are small that are tilted in the forward direction. Its legs are strong and short. The body generally remains close to the ground. This breed has a short tail however proportionate to their body This cat has a dense, thick and short coat
Weight and Height	This cat is has small as a small dog and weighs around 9 to 12 lbs
Nature and Temperament	The Exotic Shorthair is gentle, friendly and loyal to the humans. This cat is lively and more sociable and athletic than the Persian. The Exotic Shorthair is sensitive, silent and loves pampering by the breeder. This cat is a plush lapdog and loves being carried by their master.
Activity	The Exotic Shorthair loves to play interactive indoor games. This cat enjoys frequent play sessions that helps them with mental stimulation and physical exercise.
Life Span	This cat may survive up to 14 years of age.
