pet guide - English Bull Terrier

English Bull TerrierThe fights between bulls and Bulldogs were famous in 1830’s. The combat lovers created English Bull Terrier by crossing the Old English Terrier and the Bulldog along with adding genes of Spanish Pointer. However, this breed failed to become the most furious fighter. Nowadays, this breed acts as a guardian, herder and a good companion to humans.

Body Description:

The English Bull Terrier is a muscular and well-balanced animal. Head of this breed is the only part of the body that distinguishes from other breeds. The top portion of the head is flat and sloping down at the tip of its nose without any disturbance. The English Bull Terrier has robust and muscular shoulders that impart its strength.

This breed has a dense and short coat that may have different colours such as black, white, red, brindle and fawn.

Weight and Height The average height of Standard Bull Terrier is 20-24 inches and average weight is 45-80 pounds. The average height of Miniature Bull Terrier is 10-14 inches and the average weight is 24-33 pounds.

They are obedient and polite, provided they are trained and socialized from the start. They get along well with children, provided proper mental training is given. They are not recommended for families with other pets.
