BoxerAncestors of Boxers came from the mixed breed of a Bulldog and a Mastiff in Germany. These dogs were used to hunt, bull bait and pull carts. Boxers are extremely strong and have a high level of stamina and endurance. They are quick learners.

Body Description:

Body of a Boxer is compact and powerful, its tail is cropped and ears are upright. The head is in proportion with body, low and wrinkled. The neck is rounding, muscular and strong. Legs are straight and parallel.

Boxers have smooth and close fitting coat, which is mostly dark with white marks.

Weight and Height

Boxers measure up to 22-25 inches and weigh around 60-70 pounds.

Nature and Temperament Boxers are highly energetic, intelligent, curious and gentle. They are very loyal and affectionate towards their family. Boxers, if socialised properly from the start will get along well other pets. Female boxers get along with other female dogs. However, they may fight from time to time to show their dominance. Boxers need a lot of human attention. Boxers are widely known as military or police dogs, because of their courage. They make good companions as long as they get enough exercise. They will whine and point the eating bowl, when they are hungry.
Activities

Boxers love to jump and excel in playing Frisbee and fetch with their masters. They are active and athletic and like to take long daily walks.

Average lifespan Boxers live around 11-14 years, depending on their living conditions.
