Body Description:

Beagles are small and sturdy hound dogs. They resemble the English Foxhound. The head is broad and bit round with straight and square muzzle. The feet are round and strong, ears are pendant and tail is uncurled. The Beagles give a distinct bark or howl, when they are on hunt.

Beagles have sleek, short and easy-care coat. They do not require much grooming. Brown and white are popular colour among the people.

Weight and Height

Beagles are compact, they measure up to 14-16 inches and weigh around 22-25 pounds.

Nature and Temperament Beagles are gentle, sweet and curious in nature. They are sociable, intelligent and are good with other dogs. However, they cannot be trusted with other non-canine animals because of their hunting instincts. Beagles are excellent with children and love their families. Beagles do not like to be alone for long periods or else they might get aggressive and destructive.
Activities

Beagles possess lots of energy and stamina, they require a lot of exercise or else they become lazy and destructive. They enjoy long brisk walks and game of fetch with their masters.

Average lifespan On an average, a Beagle lives up to 12-15 years.
