American CurlThe American Curl originated in California in 1981. This breed is very famous in UK, Japan and North America. However, this breed is not popular in many other countries. This breed has curled ears that are its distinctive feature.

Body Description:

This breed is well balanced, elegant with moderately muscled body. This breed has a moderately long head with some smooth transitions. Generally, the ears are curled up to 90 degrees. They have brilliant, clear, large and walnut-shaped eyes.

The American Curl may come in Longhair coat or Shorthair coat. The Longhair coat is silky, puffed and fine. The Shorthair coat is soft, resilient, silky and short in length.

Weight and Height This cat may stand 25 to 30 cm tall. The Male cat weighs around 7 to 10 lbs, while the female cat weighs around 5 to 8 lbs.
Nature and Temperament The American Curl is very faithful, affectionate and loyal to their masters. This breed is extremely well in adjusting with other pets and different situations. The American Curl is good with small children. This cat possesses dog-like personality, as it has the tendency to follow their master.
Activity

This cat may live happily in a small house however; the cat loves to play in a garden or a yard.

Life Span The average lifespan of this breed lies between 9 to 15 years.
