Policy Overview

Direct Line pet insurance can pay your vet direct. Your pet is covered per condition, so there's no restriction on the number of times you can claim.

Cost: As little as £6 per month for a cat and £8 per month for a dog. Online Quote

Age Limits: Your pet must be at least 8 weeks old and no older than 9 years. (Age limit is 6 years for some select breeds).

Illness and Injury Limits: Advanced Policy covers vet's fees up to £6000, for each new condition, with not time limit. Essential Policy covers vet's fees up to £4000, for each new condition. for a maximum of 12 months.

What if my pet . . .

Causes Harm or Damage to Someone Else: Third party liability of up to £2 million if your dog (only dogs) causes injury to another person or damages their property.

Becomes lost: Up to £1,000 towards advertising and offering a reward for a lost or stolen pet. Plus, up to £1,500 purchase price reimbursement if your pet is not recovered.

Death: Up to £1,500 for the death of a pet through accident or illness.

What if I am . . .

Hospitalized: Up to £1,000 for emergency kennel/cattery fees if you're hospitalized for more than 4 days.

On Holiday: Up to £5,000 for the cost of cancelling or cutting short your holiday if your pet is lost, injured, or becomes ill.

Traveling Overseas: Countries included in the government's Pet Travel scheme are covered, excluding liability arising under the laws of the USA or Canada. Includes quarantine costs, loss of pet passport, emergency expenses while overseas, and repeat tick or worming treatment.
